Over the course of the past year, it’s safe to say, our relationship with our homes has changed profoundly (albeit not by choice). Your house became your everything - your office, your little one’s school, your gym, your restaurant, your studio - you name it. But of course, your pets were the real winners in all of this.

With the pandemic looming over our heads, we are starting to look back at those tiny things we never thought required proper cleaning. Besides, these ‘unprecedented’ times – yes, we are just as tired of hearing that – have indeed made us dependent on one such tiny thing - our mobiles!

Let’s face it, washing water bottles is often a once-a-week affair in most Indian households. Our excuse? “But it’s just water no.”  Nope, it really really isn’t. It’s the perfect home for our good old bacterial friends, so it is no surprise that they need daily cleaning. 

Our very favourite, giving us fresh and clean clothes daily, the regular usage of washing machines gives rise to a build-up of dirt and mould inside. This could further lead to an unpleasant odour and diminished effectiveness. 

“Bring out the silver,” in our country, that means showing off the best, most unique set of cutlery, it also means the meal is of utmost importance.

Our families have a designated spot to keep all the silver cutlery, one that is visible to the whole house, smack right in the middle of the kitchen or the living room.

You wake up in the morning, and you hear the sound of your dog’s feet lightly hitting the floor as he runs around. It’s very comforting, don’t you agree? Or, even when he curls up at your feet while you’re reading a book, or when he has no regard for private space and cuddles with you on the bed, or when he simply knows you’re having a bad day and boops you. These little actions, make you feel happy and complete - all thanks to their very presence at home.

You’re at home. Sitting at your desk. It’s been your favourite colleague this year, the one that you can never forget. You’re staring at the clock, it’s running very slow today. A notification pops up on your laptop, and you’re back to typing… except, you feel stuck. You don’t know what you’re doing. Is it the monotony, or is it just the unending list of tasks… So you decide to get up and get some coffee. 

We know this water as bore water or hard water. This water typically has alarmingly high presence of minerals like calcium and magnesium. 

The same water, if used for clothes, makes them rough, scrappy and fades the colours out and if combined with soap, it becomes soap suds, sticking to the various surfaces in your bathroom instead of doing its job of cleaning.
